Pyramid Health Awarded The PPQM!

We're proud to announce that Pyramid Health has been awarded the Patient Partnership Quality Mark (PPQM) by the Royal College of Chiropractors. Here's what it is, how it works, and what we think makes the award special.

What Is The PPQM?

The PPQM was established in 2006 as part of the Royal College of Chiropractors' Safety, Quality, Excellence initiative. It's awarded to practices that can demonstrate excellence in meeting patient expectations across a wide range of areas, including:

  • Accessibility

  • Booking systems and out-of-hours cover

  • Cleanliness and safety

  • Privacy

  • Communication

  • Patient education

  • Record keeping

  • The range of care offered

Practices submit an application supported by evidence, and the award runs for a three-year period. We've just been awarded for 2026–2028.

The Part That Matters Most

Here's the thing we want to highlight. Applications aren't judged by clinicians. They're assessed by Chiropractic Patient Voice — a panel made up of lay people and patients — who evaluate each application on its merits and reserve the right to verify any claims made.

That means it's not our professional peers who decided we met the standard. It's people like you.

For us, that's the part that makes it worth talking about. Professional recognition within the chiropractic world is one thing. Being judged by a patient panel against criteria that were themselves identified by lay people — what accessibility actually looks like, what good communication feels like from the receiving end — is something different.

What It Means For You

In practical terms, not much changes. We'll be displaying the PPQM plaque in the clinic and using the mark on correspondence, as the award permits. Day to day, the aim is the same as it's always been: to give you a genuinely good experience of care, not just a good clinical outcome.

But we do think quality marks mean more when the bar has been set by patients rather than professionals. This one has, and we're glad to have it.

If you have any feedback about your experience at Pyramid Health — positive or otherwise — we'd always rather hear it directly.
