Introducing: The 6-Week Bulletproof Back Programme

Stop the Cycle & Build Lasting Strength

Ever feel like your back is never REALLY getting any better?

Like treatment helps for a bit, or clears up an episode here and there, but you don’t stick with the programme and it always seems to come back. Maybe it's even getting worse over time.

This often gets written off as "just getting old." But that's a cop-out.

The reality is that a lot of patients don't make the jump from the Foundations phase of recovery to what we refer to as "active care". And without that transition, your back never builds the strength and resilience it needs to stay healthy long-term.

When you first come in with back pain, our initial focus is on reducing inflammation, restoring movement, and getting you out of pain. This is the Foundations phase - hands-on treatment to settle things down and get you moving properly again.

The Pyramid Health Steps to Success Roadmap

Most people start to feel better during this phase. The pain eases, mobility improves, and life starts to feel manageable again.

But here's where it goes wrong: treatment makes you feel better, so you stop doing the work. You don't build strength, you don't establish habits, and you don't develop the capacity to handle the demands of daily life. And you’re not thriving, you’re just surviving.

So when stress hits, when you overdo it in the garden, or when you sit a bit too long at your desk - your back gives out again. And the cycle repeats.

The Steps to Success: Where Are You on the Journey?

We use a framework called the Steps to Success to help patients understand where they are in their recovery and what needs to happen next:

1. Get out of crisis - Reduce pain and inflammation

2. Restore function - Get moving properly again

3. Build capacity - Develop strength and resilience (This is where most people drop off)

4. Maintain health and thrive - Keep your back strong for the long run

Most patients get through steps 1 and 2 with treatment alone. But reaching The Pinnacle requires serious buy-in. That's where our Sports Therapist, Hannah comes in.

The Solution: The 6-Week Bulletproof Back Programme

This programme designed to give you the training boost and accountability you need to get past the initial phase of active care and help establish the habits critical for long-term spinal health - with measurable results.

This isn't about quick fixes. It's about building real, functional strength so your back can handle what life throws at it.

What's Included

Week 0: Baseline Testing

This is where we take stock with a comprehensive 1-hour assessment to establish your baseline.

We use Activforce dynamometers to accurately measure your strength and range of motion in areas critical for back stability and mobility. This gives us objective data - not just how you feel, but how strong you actually are.

We're looking at:

  • Core strength and endurance

  • Hip mobility and stability

  • Spinal range of motion

  • Movement quality under load

These numbers become your starting point. They're what we'll compare against at the end to track real, measurable progress.

Weeks 1-5: Progressive Guided Exercise

There are 5 levels to the programme, but there's no guarantee you'll get to Level 5. We don't rush you through if you’re not ready.

Each week, we take you through progressively harder guided exercises in the clinic. We're building:

  • Core stability - the foundation of a healthy back

  • Hip strength - to take load off your spine

  • Movement control - so you can bend, lift, and twist safely

  • Functional Movements - so your back can handle real-world demands

You'll also get at-home exercises to reinforce the gains we're making in the clinic. These aren't optional - they're how you build capacity between sessions.

Week 6: Re-Testing and Your Way Forward

At Week 6, we re-test all your measurements from Week 0 and log your progress.

This is where you see the proof: objective improvements in strength, range of motion, and movement quality.

We'll discuss your options going forward and how best to continue the progress you're making. Most patients choose to stay on some form of maintenance care or transition to independent training with periodic check-ins.

Week 12: BONUS Accountability Check-In

We book another testing session at Week 12. This keeps you accountable and on track for your goals. The research is clear: people who have accountability checkpoints are far more likely to maintain their gains and keep building strength.

Who Would Thrive with This Programme?

Mums and Dads Who've Lost Their "Zip"

You used to be able to get down on the floor with the kids, carry the shopping, and handle a full day without your back complaining. But somewhere along the way, you lost that spring in your step.

This programme gets it back.

Older People Starting to Struggle with Mobility

Getting down to the floor and back up again shouldn't be a major event. Neither should gardening, walking the dog, or playing with grandkids.

If these things are starting to feel harder, this programme builds the strength to make them easy again.

People with Back Problems That Keep Coming Back

You've had treatment before. It helps. But then it comes back. Maybe it's every few months, maybe it's every year - but the pattern is clear: your back isn't getting stronger, it's just getting patched up.

This programme breaks that cycle by building real capacity, not just settling symptoms.

Anyone Who's Tried and Failed to Start a Fitness Regime

Maybe you know you need to exercise. You've tried the gym, you've tried YouTube videos, you've tried following generic "back strength" programmes online.

But you don't know if you're doing it right, you're not sure if it's helping, and when your back flares up, you stop completely because you're not sure what's safe.

This programme gives you expert guidance, progressive structure, and accountability - the three things generic fitness lacks.

Why This Programme Works

1. It's Measured

We don't rely on "how you feel." We track objective improvements in strength and movement quality. You'll see real data proving your back is getting stronger.

2. It's Progressive

Each week builds on the last. We don't rush you through levels, and we don't let you plateau. You get stronger at the right pace for your body.

3. It's Accountable

You're not doing this alone. Hannah guides you through every session, corrects your form, and keeps you on track. The Week 12 check-in ensures you don't fall off after Week 6.

4. It's Habit-Forming

Six weeks is long enough to establish a routine. By the end, the exercises feel normal, the movement patterns feel natural, and you have a clear plan to keep building strength independently.
